Lola Hoad, a 24 year old creative from Buckinghamshire, skipped the traditional path of attending university to leave home and move to Brighton to become a photographer.
While working part-time at Boots, she began studying BTEC photography, before deciding to change direction, landing a job at a graphic design company. After being made redundant in 2014, Hoad launched her first business, LH Design, initially showcasing her creations on Etsy, with limited success, until she created a festive graphic, prompting people to buy independent at Christmas which subsequently went viral. Hoad then launched One Girl Band, a creative co-working space for female designers, writers, makers and creators, in 2015, supporting women on their business journeys, and a podcast of the same name, which won Podcast Of The Year at this year's annual Blogosphere Awards.
